Member Spotlight Series: Do We Have Evolution Right?
On Thursday, November 12 at 1pm ET, HxA member Dr. Scott Turner led a community conversation on the topic "Do we have evolution right?"
Turner has been studying adaptation and evolution for two decades, and has proposed a new (and heterodox) theory (outlined in his series of three books, the latest being “Purpose and Desire”) which poses a middle way between the strict Darwinist outlook on the one hand, and the opposing Intelligent Design idea on the other. Evolutionary biology is now developing a set of alternate ways of thinking about evolution that have profound implications for how we think, and teach, about evolution.
Please note that the presenter sought to make the concepts accessible to all, even those without a formal background in the topics being discussed. All were welcome to attend.
