University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

The Campus Community at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, was launched in the fall 2024. We meet regularly to plan activities and discuss the climate on campus. Our co-chair Christian Casper is currently leading a reading group on the history and mission of the university. We also run a Google Group for members and allies. If you want to be included, please contact lead co-chair Pär Cassel.
Our Campus Community has taken part actively in recent discussions on viewpoint diversity and institutional neutrality on campus. A couple of our members participated in the U-M Principles Committee on Diversity of Thought & Freedom of Expression, which submitted its final report to the Regents in September 2024. Through opinion pieces and participating in interviews in The Michigan Daily, our Community has actively intervened in the discussion on viewpoint diversity and institutional neutrality at U-M.
Individual HxA members from Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University participate in our activities. We also collaborate with the non-partisan student group Roundtable to promote debates on political and social topics of contemporary relevance.
