University of Wisconsin-Superior

We are devoted to core tenets of civil discourse: a willingness to consider others’ viewpoints respectfully and to challenge ourselves and others to examine our beliefs, values, and goals.
Our HxA campus community is committed to the following:
- Advancing the climate of inquiry on our campus for students, faculty, and staff, thereby increasing transparency and trust across units and disciplines.
- Encouraging viewpoint diversity in and out of the classroom.
- Challenging ourselves and others in our campus and surrounding community to understand the unique views and life experiences of others while treating everyone with respect and dignity.
- Hosting public events, including an HxA Conversation.
- Advancing the University’s mission, including the intention to “[m]aintain an inclusive campus community that challenges students to develop their intellectual, personal, cultural, and social competencies.”
- Advocating for and working with administration to create institutional policies that support institutional neutrality, academic freedom, etc.
- Improving the campus's standing and reputation as an institution dedicated to the values of viewpoint diversity.
- Dedicating ourselves to the ongoing pursuit of knowledge and truth.
