Virginia Tech

The HxA Campus Community at Virginia Tech is dedicated to the cultivation of inspiring, thought-provoking and enriching conversations.
The Virginia Tech HxA Campus Community seeks to foster interesting conversations across disciplines and various political, religious, and cultural affiliations.
We have thus far run a series of monthly "Sunday Salons" for which we read a text ahead of time. We have often selected two texts for each salon, with the attempt to frame opposing views on the topic. In our salons we share thoughts over drinks and dinner at one of our members' houses. More than a book club, though, the texts serve as prompts for unpacking topics in a thoughtful manner and developing mutual understanding among the group of complex issues in a friendly and generous way.
Going forward, we plan to sponsor public events on topics that grow out of the conversations cultivated at our salons. If you wish to join, participate in, or host, a Sunday Salon, please contact us for more information and dates.
