Bridging Divides: Free Speech, Civil Rights and Social Progress in a Pluralistic Society
Where: Longs Peak Room at the Lory Student Center at CSU
When: Tuesday, October 8 at 4:00 PM MT
Join Heterodox Academy at Colorado State University for a talk by John Wood, Jr., the national ambassador for Braver Angels. He will share reflections on responsible citizenship and ways in which partisan divides can be overcome. Central to his efforts is the recognition that effective self-government depends on the ability to understand, interact with and even build partnership with individuals who we may disagree with on any of a number of issues. A panel discussion and audience Q&A will follow the talk. This event is also co-sponsored by the Office of the President at CSU and Voices for Liberty at George Mason University.
Wood’s roots in a bipartisan, multicultural family have prepared him well for crossing America’s complex political and social divides. A former nominee for Congress, Wood is also an opinion columnist for USA Today and the host of the podcast “Uniting America with John Wood Jr.” He is recognized across America as a leading voice for political and racial reconciliation.
No registration is required, and the event will be livestreamed via Microsoft Teams and recorded. The virtual meeting login information is below.
