Freedom of Expression on Campus After Oct. 7th
Drawing on his new book, Academic Freedom: From Professional Norm to First Amendment Right (Harvard University Press 2024), Professor Rabban will present and critique the judicial application of the First Amendment to expression on campus. He will analyze academic freedom as a First Amendment right of professors, universities, and students, and the relationship of academic freedom to the general First Amendment law of free speech. He will also address how this analysis applies to many of the free speech controversies on campus that have arisen in the aftermath of Oct. 7.
