HxCanada | Symposia Session - Woke as a Tool of Political Control in Canada
Lesley Robinson - Woke as a Tool of Political Control in Canada
Woke’ ideology is often critiqued as an unfalsifiable dogma and a subversion of liberal principles. From the perspective of Lesley Robinson Hudson (BA, MA, MSc) both critiques are accurate, but miss how ‘woke’ operates as a tool of political control in an economic story.
On Friday, January 12, Lesley will share one idea from her recent MSc dissertation in International Public Policy (Queen Mary University of London): the view that ‘woke’ must also be academically examined as a social engineering strategy to serve the ‘ruling class’ at the expense of the working class. This presentation deals with heterodox themes, including a class-based critique of Canada’s current immigration policy and the Government of Canada’s Antiracism Strategy.
Current HxCanada participants are invited to attend this next session in the ongoing HxCanada Symposium Series.
