Prior to the HxA Conference, the HxLegal Scholarship Community will host an in-person meeting at 3:00-4:45 PM (in-person, Chicago) to explore recent court cases and litigation related to academic freedom and viewpoint diversity in American universities. Among the topics to discuss are First Amendment cases on restricting or punishing faculty speech in teaching or their "intramural" speech on faculty governance, and on bias response policies.Existing members of the HxLegal Scholarship community, as well as other conference attendees affiliated with the field, are encouraged to attend. Please register if you'd like to attend.
