Member Spotlight: Fake News and Deep Fake Regulation

Fake news and deep fakes. What are they and why should you care? What if artificial intelligence (“AI”) could eliminate all or most such content online? Even if AI could do this, federal law may permit social media companies to keep such content up. HxA member Ryan Long, a tech / media attorney and Stanford Law School Center for Internet and Society non-residential fellow, provided an overview of fake news / deep fake regulation. Afterwards, there was a discussion concerning the consequences for viewpoint diversity.

This event took place on Tuesday, January 12 at 3pm EST.
