With its recent speech resolution, University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill has become an epicenter of the national movement to improve campus dialogue. Last spring, the Program for Public Discourse (PPD) at UNC hosted a highly successful Symposium of Collegiate Programs for Public Discourse, energizing all sorts of approaches and collaborations around improving student rhetoric. Campus has rallied around the idea that the liberal arts must train students to engage and speak out in public life.

Join us for a Member Spotlight with PPD Director and HxA member Kevin Marinelli, who will share key takeaways from the symposium that became a catalyst for change. He’ll also discuss other strategies the PPD has employed to foster robust civil discourse on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus.

We’ve reached our event capacity limit of 100. For those who weren’t able to register, please check back next week for the event recording.
