January 27, 2021 at 4pm ET

Social media has fundamentally altered our lives — and campus life is no exception.

How is social media changing the student and faculty experience? What role does it play in hindering or promoting nuanced conversations in and out of the classrooms? And recognizing that social media is here to stay, how can we ensure that we use it in healthy and productive ways that enrich and expand campus dialogues in the future?

---

Our panelists – Judith Donath, Mónica Guzmán, and Rehm Maham – will draw on their personal and professional experiences to address these questions and share what steps we can take to productively use social media in our classrooms, campuses, and communities. The conversation will be moderated by Manu Meel, CEO of BridgeUSA.

This event is open to all and co-hosted by Heterodox Academy and BridgeUSA.

Undergraduate students: You’re invited to participate in an exclusive post-event discussion immediately following the event.

Manu contributes to several news outlets, works on pro-democracy efforts nationally, and advises political leaders on reducing polarization. In the past, Manu interned as an associate at the venture capital firm Amplo and at the Department of State as a political analyst in counterterrorism.
