The 2025 HxA Conference is open to everyone. Check out our registration pricing chart for a complete breakdown of dynamic pricing by career stage/type.
Full Conference Admission
Full Conference registration includes access to all scheduled conference sessions between 3:00 pm on Monday, June 23, and 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 25, including:
All concurrent programming (research presentations, symposia, panel discussions, and interactive workshops)
All plenary programming (including the plenary luncheon on Wednesday)
Open Inquiry Awards dinner and reception on Monday (plated dinner and wine & beer bar included)
Unconference Networking reception on Tuesday (wine & beer bar and passed appetizers included)
Breakfast and coffee throughout the conference
Single Day Pass Admission (Tuesday 6/24 only)
This single day pass includes access to scheduled conference sessions and meals on Tuesday, June 24, ONLY, including:
Concurrent programming (research presentations, symposia, panel discussions, and interactive workshops)
University President Plenary Panel
Plenary Heterodox Conversation
Unconference networking reception (wine & beer bar and passed appetizers included)
Breakfast and coffee throughout the day
Open Inquiry Awards Dinner and Reception Only Admission
This pass gives you access to the following conference sessions on Monday, June 23, only
Open Inquiry Awards (OIA) Ceremony and Dinner (black tie optional) from 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Networking Reception following the dinner from 8:30 - 9:30 pm (open bar and live entertainment included)

Existing HxA members automatically get a $100 discount on conference registration, no discount code needed! All you need to do is register with the email address where you receive HxA emails to verify membership and receive the discounted pricing. Not a member? Join for free here! Our turnaround time for processing new member applications is 5-10 days.
You can update your admission item selection by opening the registration form and selecting “Already registered?” near the top of the form. Enter the name and email address that you used when registering to access your attendee record. From here, you can update any aspect of your registration including personal information and admission items.
The HxA Conference Cancellation and Refund Policy is as follows:
Cancellations must be made by emailing events@heterodoxacademy.org.
Cancellations made before June 1st are fully refundable except for a $50 refund fee.
Cancellations made between June 1st and June 15 are 50% refundable.
After June 15th, Heterodox Academy will have confirmed its financial commitments and will be unable to grant refunds of registration fees for cancellations.
We will be opening access to the conference mobile app in May. From the app, you can view all sessions, build out your personal schedule for the event, connect with and message other registrants, and learn more about our sponsors. You can view a preliminary conference schedule here.
All conference programming will take place at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, located at 333 Adams St., Brooklyn, NY 11201. You can book discounted lodging at this hotel through the HxA conference room block using this link. The deadline to make reservations at the conference rate is Saturday, May 31, 2024.

The 2025 HxA Conference will take place in-person only at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. We do not have any virtual or hybrid programming planned as part of this year’s conference. Recordings of some conference content will be available after the event.
We are still accepting sponsors for HxA2025. All sponsorship packages include an exhibit booth, waived registration fees, and advertising/recognition of sponsorship in the conference program, website, and the conference mobile app. More information about sponsorship opportunities can be found here. When filling out the registration form, you’ll be prompted to provide information regarding dietary restrictions and any other special accommodations. We will follow up with you via email to confirm those accommodations after you register.
Symposia/individual presentations
The meeting room will be equipped with a laptop, microphone, and screen to display powerpoint and other visual materials.
Panel Discussions
Panel presenters will each be provided with a chair and microphone. No computers or presentations will be shown for panel discussions.
Workshops
The meeting room will be equipped with a computer, microphone, and screen to display powerpoint and other visual materials. The room will also have tables for attendees to work at collaboratively with other attendees.
"Black-tie optional" invites guests to dress formally while allowing for some flexibility. Men may wear tuxedos or dark suits with a tie, and women may choose evening gowns, cocktail dresses, or dressy separates. It’s a night to celebrate our collective efforts to create a healthier culture in higher ed—so dress to impress, enjoy the evening, and get ready to dance the night away!
Parking is available adjacent to the hotel, operated by Central Parking. The daily rate for self-parking is $60. Valet parking is not available. Parking is managed independently and not directly by the hotel.
