Cocktails and Canceled Conversations: A Q&A with Dr. Elizabeth Loftus

On Monday, June 8, at 6 pm EDT, HxA hosted a Q&A webinar with cognitive psychologist and human memory expert, Dr. Elizabeth Loftus.

Please note: Participation in this webinar was exclusively for HxA members. We invited non-members to watch the conversation live on our Facebook page.

Dr. Loftus is a Distinguished Professor at University of California, Irvine, in the Department of Psychological Science and the Department of Criminology, Law, and Society. She has published over 20 books and 600 scientific articles, and she has served as an expert witness or consultant in hundreds of cases, including the McMartin Preschool Molestation case, the Hillside Strangler, the Menendez brothers, and the Oklahoma Bombing. She has also worked on litigation involving Michael Jackson, Martha Stewart, Scooter Libby, Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and the Duke University Lacrosse players. You can learn more about Dr. Loftus here.

Earlier this year, Dr. Loftus was scheduled to speak at New York University, but her talk was canceled following news that she would be testifying at the Harvey Weinstein trial. We are honored to host Dr. Loftus for this webinar, “Cocktails and Canceled Conversations.” This is an exclusive opportunity for HxA members to ask Dr. Loftus questions about her expertise in human memory and eyewitness testimony, her experiences as a controversial scholar, and her thoughts on the culture of higher education (and as the event name suggests, to have a drink with us).
