Join HxA at Rutgers University for a workshop led by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), and learn about your first amendment rights on campus and what you can do to defend them. An attorney at FIRE will answer your questions about topics like encampment protests and the difference between protected and unprotected speech.
You'll also have the opportunity to put these free speech rights into practice! Using the materials of FIRE’s Let’s Talk program, a FIRE staff member will lead you through some exercises that aim to teach you techniques for how to have productive and healthy conversations about controversial topics.
There will be a break between sessions when you’ll get to enjoy some free food and chat with FIRE staff.
When: Wednesday, March 12 at 12:00-2:00 PM
Where: Rutgers University | Murray Hall - Room 302
